9-B Morning Art Intensive: Cartooning

Students will learn from a professional cartoonist how to draw popular characters such as their favorite superheroes and build the skills to design their own original cartoon characters and action heroes, creating a story board of sequential comic strips! Students will also learn about cartoon classics and play cartoon trivia.

Full-day campers (those registered for a morning and afternoon camp) will have a supervised lunch period from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at no extra charge.

Health & Safety Policy:  The Center has updated its Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. COVID-19 vaccinations are suggested but not required. Mask wearing is welcome but not required. 

In the event of a closure due to the COVID-19 virus, this class will move online using ZOOM. There will be no refunds or credits for classes that were scheduled to take place on-site but were moved to an online format for health and safety purposes.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given to students who cancel at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the Summer Camp Session, less a $50 cancellation fee, per registration. No refunds will be given for cancellations received with less than 3 weeks notice before the start of the Summer Camp Session.

Behavior Policy: The Center reserves the right to dismiss any student for inappropriate behavior or failure to comply with The Center’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. Abigail "Jay" Green

Hello! I'm Jay, it’s great to meet you. I’m originally from the city of St. Louis, but I moved to New Jersey in 2016. My love for comics and manga started early, daily I would read manga like Inuyasha and comics like Batman and The Flash. It didn’t take long for me to start creating my own characters and the stories behind them. Recently I graduated from the School of Visual Arts where I was pursuing my passion for comics. There I learned a great deal of Art History, Everything comics, the basics of puppetry, 2D animation and so much more. I believe that comic creation is not only a fun art form, but a great outlet and learning tool. My love for storytelling and character creation is what drives me to share my knowledge and craft with equally passionate students. I can't wait to get to know you and your stories.
