9-A Morning Art Camp: Pottery for Ages 6-8

Campers will learn the art of creating in clay in the area’s only pottery camp. Each student will create various projects while learning different techniques and glazing their one-of-a kind creations! 

Age Level: This camp is for children ages 6 through 8.

Please Note: Students will create multiple pieces that will be fired in a kiln after the last day of camp. Parents will be notified when pieces are ready to be picked up.

Full-day campers (those registered for a morning and afternoon camp) will have a supervised lunch period from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at no extra charge.

Health & Safety Policy:  
The Center has updated its Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. COVID-19 vaccinations are suggested but not required. Mask wearing is welcome but not required. 

In the event of a closure due to the COVID-19 virus, this class will move online using ZOOM. There will be no refunds or credits for classes that were scheduled to take place on-site but were moved to an online format for health and safety purposes.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given to students who cancel at least 3 weeks prior to the start of the Summer Camp Session, less a $50 cancellation fee, per registration. No refunds will be given for cancellations received with less than 3 weeks notice before the start of the Summer Camp Session.

Behavior Policy: The Center reserves the right to dismiss any student for inappropriate behavior or failure to comply with The Center’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures. About the Instructor

Peggy Davo

Peggy Davo is native of Morris County and has taught art locally since she earned a NJ Certificate and BA in Fine Arts Education (K-12) from Montclair University. She has also earned an AS in Jewelry Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).She creates pottery out of her home studio in Morristown and is a member of the Potters’ Guild of NJ, which also provides opportunities to show her work. She is a long-time docent, studying and giving tours, at the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms in Morris Plains. This has heightened her awareness of the Arts and Crafts Movement and has much influence on her aesthetic. In teaching, she encourages her students to practice and experiment, to get comfortable with their tools and ideas. Aiding her students to become confident and proficient in expressing their skills, individuality and creativity. While also developing an appreciation for art history and nature along with the Elements and Principals of Design.  Peggy also enjoys spending time at Seaton Hackney Stables, practicing and strengthening her riding skills and understanding of the horses.
