The Next Generation: An Exhibition of Teen Artists

CALL FOR ENTRIES

We invite all young artists, ages 13-17, to enter our exhibition, The Next Generation: An Exhibition of Teen Artists, which will be on view at The Center. This opportunity provides teens a professional exhibition to showcase their 2D or 3D works of art as well as experience for their art portfolio. Each teen artist can enter one piece that will be included in the exhibition.

Exhibition Dates: June 14 – September 15, 2024
Exhibition Opening:  Friday, June 14 from 6-8 pm

Please use the form below to submit your artwork for inclusion in The Next Generation: An Exhibition: An Exhibition of Teen Artists. Entries will ONLY be accepted by completing the online entry form below.

Entrants must be ages 13-17.  Teens who are part of a Family Membership at The Center for Contemporary Art recevie a discounted entry fee. Not a Family Member? Teen artists are welcome to join as a Family Member and enter at the same time.

$20 Teens ages 13-17
$15 Teens ages 13-17 who are part of a Family Membership at The Center for Contemporary Art

JUDGE: 

Timothy O’Connor is the dedicated Executive Director of the duCret Center of Art in Plainfield, NJ; duCret is the oldest art school in New Jersey, founded in 1926. While Tim’s professional background lies in accounting, his heart beats for the vibrant world of creativity and artistic expression.

Assuming the mantle of Executive Director in August 2020, Tim embarked on a mission to steer duCret through the turbulent waters of COVID, determined to safeguard its legacy and ensure its endurance for another 98 years. With a keen understanding of the importance of regional art centers like duCret, Tim envisions a future where these institutions thrive as pillars of artistic innovation and community enrichment.

In pursuing this vision, Tim advocates for collaboration among art centers, believing they can forge a robust and supportive artists’ community by joining forces. Outside of his professional endeavors, Tim resides in Plainfield, NJ, with his two dogs, Benjamin and Algebra.

ENTRY GUIDELINES
REQUIREMENTS: 

Entry must be original artwork, wired, ready to hang and acceptably framed. Maximum framed size permitted is 30″ horizontally and vertically. 3D pieces may not exceed 18″ x 18″ x 30″ high or weigh more than 25 lbs. If your work requires special mounting for display please discuss with The Center prior to delivery. 

SALES:

The Center will handle all sales and receive a 40% commission.

INSURANCE AND SALE OF ARTWORK:

All artwork is insured for its declared value from the time it is received through September 22, 2024

MEDIA/PUBLIC RELATIONS: 

The Center for Contemporary Art reserves the right to use digital images of exhibited artwork for media, website, PR and advertising.

SHIPPING/DELIVERY OF ARTWORK:

The artist is responsible for the cost of shipping or mailing artwork to and from The Center for Contemporary Art using UPS, Federal Express, or USPS. A return shipping label and return postage must be included with the artwork. Artwork may also be hand-delivered to and picked up from The Center for Contemporary Art on the appropriate dates during the scheduled times.
