“Reverberations” by Ryan McGee

As an artist all of my work is autobiographical to some extent. Some more than others. “Reverberations” puts the various emotions of my psyche on display, each face portraying stages after a major trauma. “Jimmy” is the abstract manifestation of all my fears, insecurities, and troubles of my past in dealing with a suicide in my close family. “Iconic” displays different imagery than my other work but uses the same style and painting method as “Reverberations” (black oil paint stick shaded in, and acrylic paint for color). These paintings are a few of many made in the past year, ready to speak for themselves and allow viewer’s minds to wander and catch a glimpse behind the face I choose to portray.
