Judi Tavill (b.1968 Baltimore, MD) lives and works in Rumson, NJ and received her BFA from Washington University, St. Louis, MO (1990). After careers in fashion design and studio ceramics, she completed a Post Baccalaureate at University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth (2021). Tavill uses sculpture and drawing to create work that speaks to the complications of connection and entanglement. She is a recipient of a 2025 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowship in Sculpture and she was chosen for residency at Vermont Studio Center, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and Buffalo Creek Art Center. Her ceramic work is in the Flint Institute of Arts Museum permanent collection. Tavill’s sculpture has been included in museum exhibitions at Morris Museum, Montclair Art Museum, Hunterdon Art Museum, Monmouth Museum and New Jersey State Museum. Tavill has presented solo exhibitions at the Ivy Brown Gallery, (NYC,NY) and Adamah Gallery(Columbus, OH).
