C213-Paper Sculptures & Light Boxes-IN PERSON

In this class, students will create their own light box paper sculptures, by designing and assembling 3D scenes out of layers of paper. The  layers create depth and drama, which come to life when it is lit up from behind. They will be guided through the process of ideation and brainstorming , sketching,  cutting out, troubleshooting and finally assembling the light box paper sculptures.

NOTE: There is no class on 5/27 for the Memorial Day holiday.

In the event of a closure due to the COVID-19 virus, this class will move online using ZOOM. There will be no refunds or credits for classes that were scheduled to take place on-site but were moved to an online format for health and safety purposes.

About the Instructor

Aldo Villareal Astuvilca

A Central Jersey based artist and a professional graphic designer. He graduated from Rutgers University with his BFA in Graphic Design and Minor in Art History. His lifelong passion for art has resulted in working with several arts organizations, to help produce some large scale pieces, public murals and after school arts programs.
