404-Turning Automatic Drawings into Paintings

Automatic drawing refers to creating art without conscious thought, retaining material from the unconscious mind as part of the creative process. Intuitively deriving from play, letting go and flowing, experimenting without limitations, we will uncover deeper insights of the artist. This class will bring forth learning new parts of our psyche in merging the real and dream worlds to create beautiful inner landscapes for healing and expanding our sense of art and self. We will start by drawing on our canvas randomly with no rational thinking, transforming it into a painting with what we want it to become.

Artists who also practiced automatic drawing were Hilma Klint, André Masson, Joan Miró, Salvador Dalí, Remedios Varo, Pablo Picasso, Ellsworth Kelly, and many more.
