235-Soda Kiln Firing

In this 4 day workshop, students will explore the making and firing of work for a soda kiln. We will discuss clay bodies, glaze application and loading techniques. Students will then fire a converted electric kiln with soda and wood. We will discuss firing techniques and the workshop will culminate with unloading and discussion of results.

 

These sessions are scheduled on the following dates and times*:
  • Friday, April 21-10:00am-1:00pm 
  • Tuesday, May 2-Time TBD
  • Friday, May 5-1:00pm-5:00pm 
  • Saturday, May 6-10:00am-12:00pm

About the Instructor

John Reinking

BFA Mason Gross, Rutgers, MFA Marywood University. Associate Adjunct Professor at Raritan Valley Community College and County College of Morris; works found in many private collections; represented by Peters Valley Craft Center and Connexions Gallery in Easton, PA; exhibits in national group shows regularly.
