This workshop will provide a basic introduction to gouache (opaque watercolor) and the materials and practices that are used. This medium provides a change from the high sheen of oil and some acrylic paints with beautiful flat tones that are characteristic only to gouache.

All students must comply with the Policies and Procedures found on The Center's website. There will be no refunds for students removed from class for failure to observe The Center’s Policies and Procedures.
Materials
- Drawing board
- Masking tape (preferably acid free or pH neutral)
- 1 sheet of Cold-Press Watercolor Paper 140lb or higher for final painting (Arches brand recommended)
- Watercolor Pad for practice 140lb (such as Strathmore or XL Canson)
- Plastic palette with deep wells
- Set of Gouache paint
- Set of brushes (Recommended bristle types: Taklon and Synthetic Squirrel or Synthetic Sable)
- Paper Towels
- Jar for Water
- Reference photos for what you'd like to paint
- HB pencil
- Kneaded Eraser
Optional: - Eye Dropper or Syringe to transfer water
