About the Instructor

Gene Kim

Gene Kim is a storyboard artist and animator who has storyboarded on Netflix, Amazon Studios and other major streaming platform shows in addition to his own work. Before switching to storyboards, Gene was a CG artist at Disney's Blue Sky Studios and an undergrad animation generalist program intern at Pixar Animation Studios. His own original animated work One Last Monster has been profiled by Forbes, The Korea Times, Toon Boom Animation and other major news outlets (for more info visit onelastmonster.com/awards.) Additionally, his previous films have won dozens of international awards and in 2012 he was shortlisted for an Academy Award in the Student Undergraduate Animation category.
