131-Evening Painting-VIRTUAL

This class is open to those who want to explore the mediums of painting or drawing. There is always an ongoing discussion about traditional and contemporary concepts, with frequent group and individual critiques. Students will receive one-on-one instruction on how to compose a painting, how to use the different mediums brought to class, and how to think about their art in the broader context of what is contemporary art. All are welcome to this fun and lively studio class.

This is the VIRTUAL component of a hybrid class. There will be students participating IN-STUDIO concurrently with students participating ONLINE via Zoom. This class will be taking place online using ZOOM. Instructions on how to access the class will be sent a day prior to the class start date.

About the Instructor

Wes Sherman

Artist Wes Sherman has been painting since 1992 and has been included in hundreds of exhibitions across the county and Europe.. He received his MFA from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University in 2003. Sherman has been a visiting artist at many universities and the recipient of a fellowship for painting from New Jersey Council of the Arts. For the past 15 years Sherman has focused on landscape painting, in particular en plein air painting.He is the chair of exhibitions at The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster, New Jersey.
