SUMMARY:Wen Redmond: Musings\, Memory and Magic
DESCRIPTION:Opening Reception: April 17\, 2026 from 6-8pm \n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n \n 1\n2\n►	\n \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWen Redmond has been a fiber artist since 1976. A former Home Economics teacher\, she has worked with batik and weaving which evolved into folk art quilts and a love of the modern art quilt movement. \nIn the late 90’s\, her work centered on abstract expressionism using dyed natural material and surface design\, creating gentle tonal contrasts and layers that interact with each other. Her method of direct cutting\, without the use of patterns\, was innovative at that time. Her work continues to evolve through experimentation. \nSince the early 2000s\, her work includes photography\, printed\, or transferred onto fabric\, paper or created and mixed media substrates. \nShe has created several innovative digital fiber techniques. Holographic Images presents multiple layered pieces of photographs printed on silk organza and borders of painted and surface designed fabrics. These pieces create a 3-D effect that moves as the viewer changes positions. \nWen continues to investigate the digital world\, but also imaginative presentations that add to the pioneering exploration of her media and give her work edge. \nShe splits her time from her home studio in New Hampshire and part time in North Carolina. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to read Wen Redmond’s Artist Statement. \n

SUMMARY:Crows - a Study in Silhouettes
DESCRIPTION:Corvids are smarter than your average bird. They keep an eye on the neighborhood. And they’re very graphic. That is\, they’re very striking on the page. Learn to create silhouettes of these canny creatures in different poses. Then paint a dead tree and populate it with a murder of crows. You’ll discover that the birds are more colorful than they seem.  \nSupply List Crows – A Study in Silhouettes \nTuition: Members:$110/Non-Members: $135 \nAbout the Instructor \nDoris Ettlinger: A graduate of RISD and the University of Wisconsin – Madison; teacher/coach of the Musconetcong Watercolor Group in Hampton NJ. She has illustrated 40 picture books for children. Her books feature a sensitive drawing style and skillful watercolor technique. Doris’s work has been included in the 2024 International Exhibition of the American Watercolor Society.  Please visit:  www.dorisettlinger.com to link to her social media\, YouTube and Etsy shop. \n \n Click Here to Register

SUMMARY:Figure Sketching in Watercolor
DESCRIPTION:Learn to capture the essence of the pose by sketching quickly and painting just a little slower. Working with a clothed model\, we’ll warm up with gesture drawings\, then paint short poses with one color for the shadow. Eventually\, we will paint a longer pose exploring how light interacts with the figure\, revealing its form and details. We’ll let colors blend where the values are the same. I will try to channel what I learned from two masters\, Mel Stabin and Charles Reid. Their figures were full of light and life. \nTuition: Members:$110/Non-Members: $135 \nAbout the Instructor \nDoris Ettlinger: A graduate of RISD and the University of Wisconsin – Madison; teacher/coach of the Musconetcong Watercolor Group in Hampton NJ.
