DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Opening: Saturday\, September 12 from 6-8pm \nExpressions of Resilience showcases the transformative power of creativity in personal recovery. This exhibition highlights artistic expression as a vital healing tool\, helping individuals process emotions\, share their journeys\, and reconnect with themselves and their communities. Through painting\, sculpture\, photography and more\, participants find strength\, resilience\, and hope. They are dedicated to fostering an inclusive\, compassionate community where every person’s unique path is honored and celebrated. \nCiC’s programs include mutual support meetings representing multiple pathways of recovery\, holistic natural recovery programs\, harm reduction training and supplies\, recovery-friendly activities\, education\, and navigation to resources supporting home\, health\, purpose\, and community. CiC offers a variety of workshops for its participants\, including drawing and ceramics classes at The Center for Contemporary Art. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The artworks presented in this show reflect the personal views\, experiences\, and artistic interpretations of each artist which may vary widely and do not necessarily represent the views or opinions of the organizers. DESCRIPTION:Exhibition Opening: Friday\, September 25 from 6-8pm \nThe Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to present Fired En Masse\, an exhibition of large-scale ceramic works by eight New Jersey artists. Curated by John Reinking\, the exhibition will be on view September 25 through December 7\, 2026. \nThe public is invited to a free opening reception on Friday\, September 25\, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster. \nFired En Masse features Jennifer Evans Arbo (Green Brook)\, Kaileen Campbell (Bridgewater)\, Keiko Inouye (Bridgewater)\, Sarah Poluszny (Sergeantsville)\, Mike Reed (Milford)\, John Reinking (Pittstown)\, Alicia Ulmes (Dunellen)\, and Kimberly Hardiman Winnicky (Hampton). \nIMAGE CREDIT (From left to right) Kaileen Campbell\, Grandma Sophie\, ceramic. He is the Ceramics Program Director at The Center for Contemporary Art and an adjunct professor at Raritan Valley Community College. He has participated in nearly 150 exhibitions during the past 20 years\, and his work is held in private and public collections. \nPrimarily a wood-fire potter\, Reinking owns and operates The Kilnyard in Pittstown\, New Jersey\, where artists have access to workshops and several firing methods\, including raku\, soda\, and a large anagama wood kiln.

DESCRIPTION:Corvids are smarter than your average bird. They keep an eye on the neighborhood. And they’re very graphic. That is\, they’re very striking on the page. Learn to create silhouettes of these canny creatures in different poses. Then paint a dead tree and populate it with a murder of crows. SUMMARY:Figure Sketching in Watercolor
DESCRIPTION:Learn to capture the essence of the pose by sketching quickly and painting just a little slower. Working with a clothed model\, we’ll warm up with gesture drawings\, then paint short poses with one color for the shadow. Eventually\, we will paint a longer pose exploring how light interacts with the figure\, revealing its form and details. We’ll let colors blend where the values are the same. I will try to channel what I learned from two masters\, Mel Stabin and Charles Reid.
