Birthday Art Parties

Celebrate your child’s birthday or any other special occasion with an art twist with a party at The Center! Perfect for children ages 6 to 12 years old, parents may select from one of seven creative and educational art projects each designed with fun in mind.

Based on availability, 1 1/2  hour parties are offered on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. The first hour of the party will be an instructor guided art project followed by cake, drinks, etc. provided by the parent or caregiver during the last half hour.

Cost for Center members is $250 (non-member fee is $300) for up to 12 children (including the birthday child) and $18 for each additional child (maximum 15 children).

The Center for Contemporary Art will provide:

• An art teacher assisted by an aide.
• Art materials appropriate for the selected party theme
• Tablecloths and balloons.
• A one-time $5. gift certificate to be used towards a student art class or membership for each child’s goody bag.

Parent or caregiver will provide:

• Birthday cake, drinks, candles, paper plates & cups, utensils, napkins and goody bags.
• Parent or caregiver will be expected to remain at the party.

Choose one from the following themes:

CAKES, PIES & ICE CREAM!

Birthday guests will sculpt from clay, paint and decorate yummy looking confectionary treats. Recommended for ages 6+.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE!

Birthday guests will design a colorful and creative collection of greeting cards using printmaking techniques and acrylic paint. Cards may be used for special occasions for friends and family. Recommended for ages 6+.

SQUISH!

Birthday guests will sculpt and decorate their own special clay creations. Materials may include  acrylic paint, feathers, googly eyes, pipe cleaners and gem stones. You may select one of the following: a favorite animal, a clay pot or a decorative plaque. Recommended for ages 6+.

PAINT LIKE A MASTER

Birthday guests will have fun creating a work of art in a famous master’s style on canvas board using acrylic paint and brushes.  Choose from the following: Van Gogh (still life), Monet (landscape) or Georgia O’Keefe (floral). Recommended for ages 8+.

BE-JEWELED!

Birthday guests will string their own necklace or bracelet using a variety of beads, shiny gem stones and string. They will also paint and decorate their own special jewelry box. Recommended for ages 8 +.

SMILE!

Birthday guests will be shown step-by-step how to paint a colorful self portrait on a canvas board.  A great take-home gift! Ages 8+.

PICTURE THIS

Birthday guests will paint and decorate a wooden picture frame holding an original work of art they create   A great take-home gift!  Ages 8+.
